Kathmandu, June 30: The Nepali Congress is to provide financial assistance to the families of those killed in landslides and floods.
Issuing a press release on Tuesday, NC’s flood landslide disaster management central coordination committee shared that the party would provide Rs 25,000 each to such families.
Committee coordinator and former minister Mohan Bahadur Basnet said that they are going to provide such an amount of financial aid to the families of those who lost their lives due to flood and landslide from the beginning of 2078 BS for humanitarian support.
According to the committee, the concerned body should make an identity of the deceased in order to get the relief amount by the families of the deceased. Landslide and flood on June 16 had made massive destruction of lives and property at different areas including Sindhupalchowk, Manang, and Lamjung.
Meanwhile, Nepalis currently living in Japan have provided Rs 255,000 financial assistance to the families of those who lost their lives in flood and landslide at Helambu and Melamchi, homeless citizens, and Rs 255,000 at Disaster Fund of Melamchi municipality.
The financial aid collected from 44 Nepalis under the leadership of Binod Tamang of Indrawati rural municipality, currently in Japan for study, was handed over.
